Pairing Instructions

Pairing Smoke, Heat & Carbon Monoxide Alarms

All InterAlarms alarms are pre-linked (paired) prior to dispatch.
However, on rare occasions, they can become unpaired during the delivery process.

Once installed, they shuld be checked regularly, at least once a month, to ensure they remain paired.

Before installation, remove all alarms from their packaging and switch them on using the switch on instructions above.

Check they are paired by pressing the test button on any alarm. Once the first alarm is activated all other alarms should sound within 20 seconds.

If any alarms do not sound, then they will need to be paired with the other alarms by following the steps below -

  1. Press and hold the test button on any paired alarm. The alarm will flash green after a couple of seconds.
  2. Remove your finger after the alarm flashes green for the 3rd time. The alarm will beep at the 2nd & 3rd flash.
  3. The alarm will ow flash red rapidly - it is now in the pairing mode. It will remain in the pairing mode for approximately 1 minute. Once it stops flashing red, it is no longer in the pairing mode.
  4. Now press and hold the test button the the alarm that needs to be paired with the first device.
  5. Remove your finger after the alarm flashes green for the 2nd time. The alarm will beep at the 2nd flash and once again when it pairs.
  6. The alarm will flash red 3 times. It is now paired.
  7. If the alarm flashes and beeps 3 times at this point it means it already has a stored pair link and should be cleared. To clear an alarm press and hold the test button until it flashes for a 4th time. The alarm will beep at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th flash. Remove your finger after the alarm flashes green for the 4th time. It will flash red 3 times to indicate the pairing has been cleared. Now follow steps 4 - 6 again to pair with the other alarm.
  8. To pair more alarms, follow steps 4 - 6 for each alarm, as long as the first alarm is still flashing red rapidly.
  9. If the first alarm stops flashing red rapidly, follow steps 1 - 3 to re-enter pairing mode.
